In sixth grade reading class, you can use the My Fake Wall sight to have students create a facebook like page for their character. We used greek myths to create pages to show the student's knowledge of their character and other greek gods and goddesses.

In sixth grade counseling lessons, the students created a storyboard to reinforce the lessons they learned about bullying. They then took still photographs and put them to music with this program to create a music video. They were then shown to the school.

What's on my Mac?

Garage Band




Garage Band is a program in the applications of your mac. It can be used to record voice and use as a podcast. We recorded literature books to allow students to listen to the stories on the ipods. Each chapter can be recorded separately to make it easy for the students to find their place, and listen to the text as they read along.



This covers all standards.

iDVD


iDVD is a program that allows students to create projects that use video recordings and put them into a dvd format. In 6th grade the students record a 6th grade news broadcast with flip cams and then they can add credits and music to the dvd.

This can be used to reinforce all standards.

iMovie


iMovie can allow the students to edit clips that they record with Flip Cams. They can add music to the clips, change the order of recordings and use creativity to create a movie. In 6th grade the students record themselves measuring items, then create cards that show how to convert measurements in the metric system. They can then finalize the movie and burn into a dvd with iDVD.

This can be used to reinforce all standards.
